Here’s a live stream I did for a datamine of the new ATX items, the original article is below!
The Steel Reign Update for Fallout 76 is now available in the Public Test Server! We hope you will join us for some playtesting, questing, Legendary Crafting, and then share your feedback and bug reports with us here in the PTS forums.
Read on to catch brief descriptions of the features and improvements we’d like you to check out.
This update brings all-new quests to Fallout 76 with the Steel Reign questline, which picks up right where you left off with the Brotherhood of Steel at the end of Steel Dawn. After you’ve gotten the chance to dive into a couple of the new quests, please share your thoughts on Steel Reign with us by visiting this thread in the PTS Forums.
Here’s how you can get started with Steel Reign:
A Blue Ridge Caravan Merchant, named “Minerva,” just arrived in Appalachia, and she’s ready to trade a selection of coveted item plans in exchange for your Gold Bullion.
Alongside Minerva’s arrival, we’ve also removed the need to unlock Gold Bullion and Gold Bullion Vendors by completing the Wastelanders quest, “Secrets Revealed.”
With this update, we’re implementing the Legendary Crafting system, which you can use to turn normal items into legendary items, re-roll your existing legendary items’ attributes, and even upgrade or downgrade their star-ratings.
Once you’ve tried Legendary Crafting in the PTS, please feel free to share your thoughts on the system with us by visiting this thread in the PTS Forums.
In addition to weapons and normal armor, Legendary Crafting can also be used to create pieces of Legendary Power Armor.
Alongside the arrival of Legendary Crafting, we’ve also revisited our lineup of Legendary Attributes to add some new ones, and give a tune-up to a few that already existed. Give some of the new and updated legendary attributes a test run using your existing items, or by making them using the Legendary Crafting system. Then, share your thoughts with us by visiting this thread in the PTS Forums.
During this iteration of the PTS, we’re activating the “Meat Week” Seasonal Event. Gather Prime Meat from beasts at Primal Cuts events around Appalachia. Then, head to Grahm’s Meat-Cook near Vault 76 every hour to turn in Prime Meat for Legendary Scrips, and help Grahm throw his sizzlin’ summertime shindig. If the party is a success, you’ll also earn some rewards!
If you have any feedback you’d like to share for Primal Cuts, Grahm’s Meat-Cook, the new rewards (listed below), or if you find any bugs during the Meat Week event, please let us know by posting here in the forums.
Feel free to take some of the new rewards that we’re adding to Meat Week and Steel Reign for a test drive while you’re playing in the PTS. Please Note: Rewards like the Cryogenic Bed and Hellcat Power Armor are still in progress, and do not have final art just yet.
For those of you who have joined us in the Test Server previously, we’ve added a few premade characters to your PTS account, named “Quests” and “Rewards.” Please Note: Adding multiple characters to all PTS players’ accounts is a process that can take some time to complete. If you don’t have all three characters mentioned below in your Character Menu when the PTS begins, they should appear within the next day or two.
Thank you very much for your participation in the PTS, we’re looking forward to hearing what you think!
Welcome back to Inside the Vault! Read on to learn more about our current timing to reopen the Public Test Server for Steel Reign Update playtesting, information about a smaller update that we’re planning to release this month, and the details for Double S.C.O.R.E. this weekend.
In a previous article, we shared an overview of what’s headed your way in our next iteration of the Public Test Server (PTS), and we’re aiming to begin playtesting as soon as May 14. If anything comes up that will prevent us from starting that day, then we will instead reopen the PTS early next week. This PTS will include the entire Steel Reign questline, during which you’ll experience the conclusion of the Brotherhood of Steel story that began with Steel Dawn. Additionally, the Legendary Crafting system, legendary attribute rebalancing work, the Meat Week Seasonal Event, and more will be available for you to try out. We’re also planning to add pre-made characters to players’ accounts in the PTS so that they can immediately tackle the Steel Reign questline and take new rewards for a test drive.
From the new questline, to new features, and everything in between, we’re looking for your feedback. We hope that those of you on PC who own Fallout 76 through Bethesda.net will join us in the PTS as soon as it is available. Keep an eye on the official Fallout 76 forums, and follow @Fallout on Twitter, to catch the precise moment that you can head into the Public Test Server.
If you’ve been keeping an eye on our most recent Community Calendar, then you’ve probably been eyeing the Steel Reign Update, which we currently have slated for release in July. However, we’re also planning to roll out another patch near the end of this month, on May 25. This will be a smaller update than some of our previous releases, and it will include some prep work for Steel Reign, apply fixes for several community-reported bugs, and bring some new items to the Atomic Shop. As always, we’ll post reminders in-game and on social media the day before our planned maintenance, and we’ll share update notes on Fallout.com as soon as downtime begins.
The showdown between Commissioner Chaos and Armor Ace is heating up, and today we’re kicking off a new Double S.C.O.R.E. weekend as the Power Patrol go toe-to-toe with the Yukon Five. For the next few days, each of your Daily Challenges will offer twice the usual S.C.O.R.E., so that you can give your Scoreboard position a boost and claim rank-up rewards more quickly. Check out the start and end times for Double S.C.O.R.E. below, and be sure to complete as many Daily Challenges as you can this weekend.
Don’t forget to keep an eye on the Community Calendar on Fallout.com’s Seasons page, so that you can participate in community activities like Around Appalachia and C.A.M.P. Creations, as well as all of our upcoming weekend events into July.
