Welcome back to Inside the Vault! This week, we’re sharing our gratitude with all of you for joining us in Fallout 76 for the Wastelanders update. We’re also announcing details for our first Reddit AMA, as well as sharing updates with you on Steam account linking, a new Twitch Prime Bundle, and the future of the PTS.
THANK YOU!
Earlier this week, we released Wastelanders, which was our biggest update for Fallout 76 yet. We’ve had an absolute blast adventuring with you in Appalachia, seeing your reactions to the new quests, story, and NPCs, and of course, reading all of your feedback so far. We wanted to share our deepest thanks for sticking with us, and our appreciation for checking out the new Wastelanders content. In case you missed it on social media, check out this special thank you message put together by some of the folks on the team:
We also still have a gift on the way in the form of a new free outfit for those of you who played Fallout 76 between launch and the arrival of Wastelanders. Once it’s available, Mountain Scout Outfit (which we previously called the “Veteran Outfit”) will become craftable in your Armor Workbench. We’ve already begun adding the outfit to players’ accounts, and everyone should have it by the end of the month.
WASTELANDERS REDDIT AMA NEXT WEEK
Next Thursday, we’re planning to kick off our very first Reddit AMA for Fallout 76, hosted on the FO76 Subreddit. We’ve been playing new Wastelanders content right alongside you in Appalachia. Now, we want to chat directly with you to answer some of your questions about our latest update for the game. If you’ve got queries about the new questlines, story, Allies, NPCs, dialogue, or any other Wastelanders topic, we’d love to share our thoughts on them with you. Here are the AMA details:
UPCOMING WASTELANDERS AMA
- Who: Jeff Gardiner (Project Lead) and Ferret Baudoin (Lead Designer)
- Where: FO76 Subreddit

STEAM ACCOUNT LINKING EXTENDED
Calling all PC Players! In case you missed it, we recently announced that we’re extending the window for linking your Bethesda.net and Steam accounts until April 28. So, if you didn’t make the initial window or if you had trouble linking your accounts, you’ve got some more time to get a free PC copy of Fallout 76 for your Steam account. Link your accounts today, and we will get you set up by the end of April.
TWITCH PRIME WASTELANDERS BUNDLE NOW AVAILABLE
We’ve partnered up with Twitch for a third time to bring you a new round of in-game cosmetic rewards that you can claim just for having Twitch Prime. The Twitch Prime Wastelanders Bundle went live earlier this week, and it includes several Raider and Settler faction themed outfits, player icons, and lamps for your C.A.M.P.! These rewards will be up for grabs until May 15, so be sure to link your Twitch and Bethesda.net accounts by then.

FUTURE PATCHES AND THE PTS
Wastelanders may have just launched earlier this week, but we’re already reading through your feedback, bug reports, and thoughts as we look forward to future updates for the game.
Prior to launch, players in our Wastelanders Private Test Server (PTS) shared crucial feedback that helped us shape some of the systems in Wastelanders, squash a ton of bugs before release, and get a head start on investigating many more. We couldn’t have released Wastelanders with its current level of polish without their tireless efforts, reports, and feedback. Those of you who took part in the PTS have our sincere gratitude. We’re humbled by your dedication to this game, and we hope the rest of the community will join us in extending thanks to you as well.
With that in mind, we want to utilize the PTS for as many of our patches going forward as possible. We are currently looking into expanding the PTS to include many more players in the future. We’ll have more details to share about how you can participate once we’re closer to firing up the PTS again for a future patch.
Speaking of future updates, our next is currently planned for May. It will largely focus on a few quality-of-life improvements, the return of the Fasnacht Seasonal Event, and bug fixes. Many of those fixes are for issues reported by the extremely dedicated players in the Wastelanders PTS, which we did not have time to implement prior to launch.
Thanks again, and we will see you in Appalachia!
